I admit I've been spoiled because I have been lucky enough to be able to ski on ski off at Mount Snow Vermont and I don't think I will be able to go back.

Convenience: No one can argue ski on ski off is far more convenient than the hassle of packing up your car and driving to the mountain for the day. You can wake up and walk right to the trail. Mount Snow is a family friendly mountain so this is especially nice if you have young children that really only ski for a few hours at a time. On a cold day the convenience of ski on ski off at Mount Snow is priceless.

Save some money: There is no denying skiing is an expensive sport and you often pay more for the convenience of ski on ski off however you can get a lot of value out of a ski on ski off property.

Everyone desrves to put their feet up and relax every once and a while but vacations can be expensive especially if you are traveling in a large group. Its easy to get caught up in splurging on elaborate and expensive vacations, but you can have a great time that is affordable. Affordable vacations just require a little bit of planning.

Go off season

Prices are significantly cheaper off season so take advantage of that and go against the grain and head to the mountains when everyone else is heading to the beach. You’d be surprised how many activities are going on off season in order to attract more tourists. Hiking

Mount Snow in West Dover offers a multitude of hiking trails of varying difficulty to the 3,600 foot summit. In the Grand Summit hotel you can ask a guide for advice and gear before ascending the mountain. You have the option of hiking determined trails or blazing your own. Trails are not always entirely clear so you are often just wandering up. This experience provides a whole new perspective on skiing Mount Snow. The view at the top is breathtaking. One of the most popular trails is the ridge that allows hikers to travel the 2.5 mile trail to nearby Haystack Mountain.

Scenic Chairlift ride

If hiking is not your pastime of choice, enjoy a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the mountain. You can get off and explore the top of the mountain or picnic. You then have the option of walking down or riding the chairlift back down. The view at the top of the mountain provides a picturesque view of Southern New England. The ride costs $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for children and seniors or is included free with a season pass. Chairlifts run weather permitting every weekend throughout the summer. It gets colder at the top of the mountain so plan accordingly.

Mountain Biking

Mount Snow is running the lifts every weekend and creating over 35 trials through out the mountain. They offer rentals and clinics so any one whether it is their first time or they are professional are welcome to tune in to their adventurous side. There are different level trails available but this is not for the faint of heart. But if you want to try something new and get a little mud on your tires this is a great activity to partake in. Lift passes cost $38 for the day.

Bromley Summer Adventure

A family friendly destination is the Bromley Summer Adventure Park, located only an hour away from West Dover Vermont. There is something for all ages. Activities range from adrenaline aerial adventure courses, to scenic chair rides. There are also bounce houses, mini golf and an alpine slide. There is lots to do making it a perfect day trip. All day passes are $45 but the park is always offering deals during the mornings or weekdays.

Vermont Country Store

If you are looking to get a blast from the past take a trip to Weston Vermont and visit the Vermont Country Store. Less than an hour away from West Dover, the quaint store features discontinued products that are now only sold here. Buy your favorite childhood candy or toy exactly how you remember it. In addition there are a multitude of other local products ranging from food to wacky inventions.

Marlboro Music Festival

The Marlboro Music Festival is located 25 minutes from West Dover Vermont and run music preformances every weekend from July 19th to August 17th. Instrumetalists and singers of varying expierence levels are invited to participate. Each weekend there is an saturday evening show and a sunday afternoon show with an occasional friday performance.
